Earth is a living entity like human beings. Native Americans, Greeks, Vedic Rishis all hailed a lifestyle which keep us closer to the heart of mother earth. Vedic Wisdom goes one step forward and claims that earth and all life on this planet is connected to the entire solar system. Any change in the universe is bound to affect life on earth. This change may be small on human timeline but on a cosmic timeline the change is substantial and transformative.
This age old understanding of human race, has been recently backed by scientific understanding and investigation. Though as on day, there is no sufficient data to prove or disprove this understanding, journey in this direction has already begun. Two decades ago, a British scientist named James Lovelock put forth an imaginative view of how the Earth functions. The planet's living organisms, he said, act together, as a singular consciousness to regulate the global environment. Life interacts chemically and physically with the air, the water and rocks to maintain optimum conditions for itself.
It's not really a scientific hypothesis that can be tested through experimentation. The Gaia hypothesis is at its infancy and is in need of lots of data. According to Margulis and Lovelock, Earth, rather than acting like an inanimate, non-living object, instead behaves like a living system. Life-sustaining attributes, such as temperature, atmospheric oxygen content, and ocean salinity, have all been maintained with remarkably little variability.
At another level, there’s a positively charged electrical field surrounding the Earth. The Earth itself carries a negative charge. While not taken seriously in their time, past scientists such as Nikola Tesla studied the frequency of the Earth. In the 1950s, the German physicist W.O. Schumann and his students carried out experiments with electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere and the ionosphere. Schumann discovered a natural pulse resonating around the Earth at a frequency of 7.83 Hz, widely known as the Schumann resonance. It is now believed that the change in Schumann resonance affects the human life, both physically and mentally.
The loss of biodiversity, reckless exploitation of natural resources and deforestation, along with expanding universe has altered the homeostatic balance of planet earth. His has resulted in unexpected climate change and increase in the vibrational frequency of Earth (almost three times). The energy correction mechanism of Earth has activated to restore balance at a higher frequency.
As published in Scientist American, a study conducted by a group of ecologists in Cidar Creek Grasslands found that no level of diversity loss can occur without adverse effects on ecosystem functioning. Some other studies indicates the planet as a whole is on the cusp of what some researchers have termed the sixth mass extinction event in the planet's history: the wiping out of plants, animals and all other forms of life due to human activity. The global impact of such biodiversity loss is detailed in a meta-analysis led by biologist David Hooper of Western Washington University. His team examined 192 studies that looked at species richness and its effect on ecosystems and concluded that the primary drivers of biodiversity loss are, in rough order of impact to date i.e. habitat loss, over-harvesting, invasive species, pollution and climate change
To understand how the Earth is a living entity and integrated unit, let’s take a look at what defines life in various domains of science. Physicists define life as a system of locally reduced entropy (life is the battle against entropy). This way, life is a continuous movement from chaos to order. Molecular biologists view life as replicating strands of DNA that compete for survival and evolve to optimize their survival in changing surroundings. Physiologists view life as a biochemical system to use energy from external sources to grow and reproduce. According to Lovelock, geophysiologist sees life as a system open to the flux of matter and energy but that maintains an internal steady-state. Essentially life is about change, harmony, balance and growth. In a changing ecosystem, human race cannot afford to live with old and exploitative ways.
While this is great scientific information, there are other important facts to take into account for human survival in a high frequency ecosystem. Connecting with the Earth’s resonance is essential. Not doing so can lead to lowered levels of melatonin, a cancer suppressant and cell-rejuvenating hormone produced in the brain. Electromagnetic pollution can even inhibit our ability to connect with the Earth’s natural pulse in a physical sense.
The Earth is a living being. It has started to vibrate at a frequency we haven’t witnessed before. The frequency of the planet has been increasing very quickly throughout the last 10 years, and has almost doubled. The planet’s energy is expanding.
The idea of the Earth acting as a single system is stimulating
a new awareness of the connectedness of all things on our planet and the
impact that man has on global processes. No longer can we think of earth as a
rock. No longer can we think of man’s actions in one part of the planet as
independent. Everything that happens on the planet – the
deforestation/reforestation of trees, the increase/decrease of emissions of
carbon dioxide, the removal or planting of croplands, all have an affect on our
planet and on us. What we think and do is a concern for the universe. How we connect and relate to this planet, will ultimately
determine the fate of humanity. In years to come, the extent of holistic thinking and living will determine the fate of human race. Holistically whole is the new mantra for living.
