Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It
is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state
of being. It's not 'I love you' for this or that reason, not 'I love you if you
love me.' It's love for no reason, love without an object
- Ram Dass
Inspite of advances in human knowledge, the understanding
about love has progressed little. The 21st century people understand
love as narrated by the film industry. This narrative makes love a commodity,
with quid pro quo. If you don’t give me love, I will not give you my love. All
doors closed. In this narrative, worrying for your loved ones and being
possessive of your loved ones, are essential traits of loving someone. At the
end of the day love has become of tool for promoting rage, jealously and consumerism
in our life.
In modern world, Love is largely understood as an
emotion, a function of the mind. It is a play of chemicals in our brain. Happiness
is seen as a precondition to experience this emotion in life. But in reality,
it is a universal force like gravitation, which binds together all that has
been created. Love is the force behind all creation. Without Love, nothing can
be created. Love creates happiness and not the other way round.
Love is why we exist. It is our natural instinct,
seeded in every cell our body. We are born with a potential to love everyone unconditionally.
But as we grow old, our conditioning changes the definition of love. From being happy and loving
for no reason, we start finding reasons to happy and loving. These reasons
becomes the conditions for Quid Pro Quo and we start trading in love.
Now is the time, to go back to basics, to our core.
Now is the time to unleash the potential of unconditional love, lying dormant
inside. All that is needed is a little bit of intention and more discipline in
thinking & efforts. The following give point strategy is the shortest path
to unlock you love potential
1. Practice Love not Attachment –
Many a times we get confused between Love ( Prem) and Attachment (Moh). Love is
a higher frequency energy whereas attachment is low frequency energy. Love
leads to freedom and attachment leads to fear. As a conscious human being, we
must train our mind to differentiate between the two.
2. Stop worrying, Start Caring – We
often justify our tendencies and habits of worrying for our loves ones. In
reality, worrying is a low frequency energy where expect something bad or
unwanted. Worrying is a mental menace where we subconsciously create
difficulties for our loves and then complains about it. The solution like in
caring by radiating higher frequency energy. Caring is like pulling someone up
from the higher pedestal. Worrying is like dragging someone to the trench.
3. Don’t Expect from Others – Expectation
especially at mental level is the key cause of suffering in life. We are designed
as self sufficient systems and all we need is inside us. All the vital resources
for survival and growth like love, courage and wisdom are inside us. But at
most of the time, we look for this support from others. When everyone has expectation
of receiving, it results in shortage. If we reverse this progress, and draws
the power from inside and develop and intention to give it to others, the
supply will be abundant. This way we not only find love and happiness in our
life but also help others
4. Only Strong can Help – During
difficult times, we all have noble intent of helping our loved and friends. But
out of ignorance, we get so deeply engraved in their sorrow and hardships that
we start contributing to their problems. Unknowingly, by radiating fear and
worries, we make things difficult for them. By worrying or by loosing our mind
during difficult times, we are of help. The only solution is to radiate high frequency
energy of love, hope and faith. At the end of the day, we cannot give to
others, what we don’t have. First we must have it inside
5. Improve the Quality of your Self
talk – Self talk is what we instruct to our inner creative force field. To bring more love in life, we must transform
our self talk on the lines of principles of life. Away of the agenda of hatred,
rage, competition and possession, it must be spending more time and focus on
cooperation, peace, kindness, caring and abundance. Self talk is your guidance to
your 50 trillion cells and 100 billion neurons.
6. Focus on Giving – What we give to
others, come back to us. This rule is valid for all levels of existence (
physical, mental and spiritual), only the period of return varies. We also call
it Law of Karma. However, in the modern life, focus is entirely on receiving.
This has distorted the equation of life in the 21st century.
Everyone want something, no one is giving. On the top, we are freely giving to
other hatred, anger and confusion. This need to change. In order to get back
goodness of life, we must develop an intent to give it first. All resources are
inside. There is no need to go anywhere. Just look inside.
Working on the above, six points is not an easy
task. It is tough job to break old had habits. But at the same time, it is
possible with commitment and firm intention. First, we must de-learn all the wrong things
we have learned. Then we should restrict the supply the garbage through a better
lifestyle based on discipline and positive. Step three is to look inside and
allowing the inner self to bring the magic in our life.
Life is beautiful. Love is abundant and everywhere.
We must stop looking for it outside and start looking inside. This is the only
recipe to make this world a beautiful and loving place for ourselves and for
coming generations. Mind is the key. As Lord Krishna said in Bhagwat Gita, when
in control mind is our best friend and when out of control, it is our biggest
enemy. When mind is in our control, love is pulled from inside and we experience a higher state of happiness, Ananda.
Happy Valentine Day
