Living in Paradox

Life is essentially a paradox as it happen in possibilities. Change, instability and uncertainty are its essential features. Anyone looking for stability and certainty is living in fool’s paradise  Modern physics in general and quantum physics in particular has increasingly validated this finding of ancient Eastern Yogis. Now there is sufficient scientific evidence to prove that the systematic and mechanical view of world as given by Newtonian Physics is grossly limited at both sub atomic and cosmic levels.  This change in understanding is essential to re calibrate our knowledge about how ecosystems works and they organize themselves. It calls for a sea change in our conceptual understanding that integrates three dimensions of life - biological, cognitive and social  Life is aliveness. Most of the things that we encounter in our environment are alive. Everything vibrates. The only difference lies in the rate of vibration. Life is essentially a network of i...

Live Your Life 300% - Happy Guru Purnima

The purpose of life is to live and experience every moment with open heart and mind and to be better after every experience.  Those who are living a limited life in the name of religious and social dogmas, are missing the very essence of being here. If any part is missed with a hidden longing in heart or mind, salvation ( going back to the nature) is never possible.  The Vednanta way of life, suggests that we should experience all that life offers to us and enjoy it without attachment. Every experience has a purpose. Once it is enjoyed with expanded awareness, it gives us the lesson we were looking for. Once this purpose is served, this experience, either good or bad goes back to the source and a new experience is offered.  In a larger sense, we all are meant to experience life 300% 1. Material Success - All of us have essentially acquired the physical body to experience this physical world. Negating the existence and importance of physical world and its r...

Yoga - The Exlir of Life

Sage Patanjali, the father of Yoga, penned down the principles, tools and techniques of Yoga to enable the humanity, as a mean to connect the individual consciousness ( Chitta) with Universal Consciousness ( Mahat). According to Patanjali,  the sole purpose of yoga is quieten the fluctuations in our consciousness so that we can be aware of our true self and the purpose of life. Health, wellness and peace of mind are the side effects of yogic way of life. To a  restless mind, yoga is just a circus of postures where bodies are bend  in many ways and pride is taken on every successful bending. When the ego-centric mind does yoga, outcome is more ego and less peace and well being. The true sense, yoga is to quiten the mind and let the soul experience the body and mind.  Contrary to the popular beliefs, Yoga is not an exercise system but a way of life. It is more than Asanas, which are meant to brought the subtle intelligence of cellular level ...

Energy Stealers - The Don'ts for Spiritual Warriors

The universe is a thinking, feeling and loving system based on energy. Higher frequency energy is good for us as it is the source of creation. Conversely, lower frequency energy leads to stagnation.  The attributes and the design of universe supports all high frequency energies. This kind of energy connects and brings growth in life. Love, kindness, appreciation, humility are all high frequencies which connects us to the energy of supreme consciousness. On the emotional plane, we are burdened with behavioral patterns that steals our higher frequency energies. To live in harmony with the supreme consciousness, we need to know and eliminate these energy stealers from our life. Understanding and clarity is the foundation of a great life which is joyous, fulfilling and successful in true sense  1. Criticism - Criticism comes out of lack of understanding and dominance of ego. When we criticize anyone or anything it means that we are right and others are wr...

Make the Most out of Everything

Life is not always rainbows and sunshine. Nor it always turn out in line with our calculations and expectations. But such uninvited moments are opportunities to redefine our values and reality. When approached with a positive intent, such moments help us to see the brighter side of the unheard saga.  My life has been  full of ups and down. Despite my best actions and intentions, life keep on throwing surprises. Unexpected events at unexpected times, test my beliefs  and faith.  However  trilogy of Sadhana, Sewa and Sankirtan and with the grace of Guru,  my ability to make it  feel good, over and over after difficult times has gotten quite impressive.  It is very liberating to actually feel somewhat in control of your life. Today, when I face unexpected and unwanted situations in health, professional life and overall well being, I accept my responsibility for such situations and I accept my internal power to transform situa...

The Path to Higher Consciousness

Last week I had an interesting and impactful interaction with my seven year old son. I asked him, what differentiates humans from all animal species.   He gave all possible de-markers that could come to the mind of a seven year boy – reading, writing, dancing etc. And I with my worldly knowledge gave him instances from movies where he had seen animals dancing, reading and writing. After exhausting all his options, he posed for a minute and then said magic words. His pure soul said something which our informed and educated mind could rarely find. He said that, one attribute which differentiates animals and humans is THINKING. The whole day I was amazed by this wonderful reply. Again and again, the reply forced me look into various dimensions of thinking.   What exactly is that we call thinking ? What are the backward and forward linkages for thinking? When   of our life is full of unresolved, are we giving adequate thinking to these unresolved issues ? ...

Life Lessons from Movies

Movies are a great source of inspiration and learning. Meaningful  movies like Peaceful Warrior, Matrix, Pursuit of Happiness, Bruce Almighty, The Family Man, Click, Butterfly Effect and others, offers us life lessons with humor and excitement. Such meaningful movies contain the extracts of wisdom of many, across time, space and culture.  They ensure that we don't get hurt in learning realities of life.  Down below are some lessons, I have learned from movies.  There is never nothing going on. There are no ordinary moments. The ones who are hardest to love are usually the ones who need it the most. Death isn’t sad. The sad thing is: most people don’t live at all. A warrior is not about perfection or victory or invulnerability. He’s about absolute vulnerability. That is the only true courage. Our choices in life makes us who we are and there is always a choice before us. If we have dreams, we als...
